About Us


Claire Husaynu, M.S., OTR/L is the founder and lead occupational therapist of Sweet Pea OT. She brings over six years of experience to her practice with a strong foundation in pediatric private practice and Early Intervention. Claire is committed to fostering a neurodiversity affirming, play-based approach that meets each child where they are. She believes in treating the whole child in order to help them grow with confidence, joy and support.



Throughout her career Claire has evaluated and treated a wide variety of children of various ages and abilities. She has worked with children across diverse settings including homes, schools, daycares, private practice settings, and teletherapy.



Fun facts about Claire: She loves baking, coaching ice skating, and watching Big Ten sports. Go Green!

Support cognitive development to build necessary life skills and make better day-to-day decisions. These include planning, organizing, direction following, time management, attention, memory, etc.

We offer free, informal screenings to determine if an occupational therapy evaluation is warranted. We are happy to coordinate with caregivers, schools, and daycares to set up an on-site screening.

We work hand in hand to create plans that feel doable, supportive, and empowering. We recognize that therapy is a small fraction of your child’s time and the real work is done at home with family.

Insurance and Payment

Sweet Pea OT accepts clients through the Early Intervention program, BCBS insurance plans, and private pay. We are considered in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Blue Choice Plans. We are considered out-of-network with all other insurance; however, we can still try to use those benefits!

For out of network plans a superbill can be provided upon request and may help you secure reimbursement for services. Providing this to your insurance does not guarantee reimbursement from your insurance provider.
